And while it has for whatever reason been held off of Record Store Day festivities, the reissues will officially drop on May 26th. The Mouse and the Mask, a collaboration between perennially out-there rapper MF Doom and Grey Album mastermind Danger Mouse, pays homage to the Cartoon Network’s postmodern Adult Swim series. The Mouse and The Mask is a collaboration album by Danger Mouse and MF DOOM.The album is composed almost entirely of raps by MF DOOM, performed over beats created by Danger Mouse sampling music. So leave it to the good people at Lex Records to answer their calls, reissuing the album as a 2xLP with a brand new layered Rorschach cover that’ll certainly catch as many eyes as the wax will catch ears. Lex has a history of lavish packaging but this remains one of the lushest sleeves in the catalogue. It was also released by Lex Records in the UK on October 17, 2005, with different cover art. This marked the third hip hop release for the label.

The album, set to debut in October 2005, will be released on Epitaph Records, in association with Adult Swim. And in the ten years since, the stock of the album’s vinyl pressings has remained criminally low for your everyday crate-diggin’ beat junky. Originally only available in Europe in limited quantities, Lex have repressed the Deluxe double vinyl LP edition of ‘The Mouse & The Mask’ for 2019.
